Scope of Work: Modus21 has recently been awarded a five (5) year contract for the Data Center and Cloud Hosting Services (DC2HS) and Enterprise Systems (ES) Department Information Technology Support for the Navy. Modus21, LLC and it s team of subcontractors work will encompass Information Technology (IT), network, planning, architectural analysis, evaluation, design, development, engineering, transition, cyber security, programmatic and sustainment support services to provide the Enterprise Systems (ES) Department of the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic Service Centers world-class solutions to complex IT challenges in an uninterrupted manner.

Background: DC2HS Division, is tasked with providing hosting environments and platforms for Navy applications, as well as other DoD and Homeland Security (HLS) applications utilizing both Component Enterprise Data Centers (CEDCs) and Commercial Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) as hosting platforms. DC2HS hosting services reside on various networks including the Extended Demilitarized Zone (eDMZ) provided by Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN), the Non-classified Internet Protocol (IP) Router Network (NIPRNet) provided by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) provided by DISA, and commercial internet providers (hosting CSPs). Within each hosting platform, DC2HS allows resident mission owners to subscribe to a set of common Managed Services. The DC2HS on-premises hosting environments are currently supported by three accredited and operational data center environments at NIWC Atlantic locations in Charleston SC, Kansas City MO, and Millington TN, as well as CSP offerings from AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Salesforce. The list of locations and CSP offerings may change over time. Under NIWC Atlantic guidance, an enterprise baseline is in place to ensure consistency across all environments for both technical and non-technical operations while maintaining key performance and operational metrics. This baseline facilitates consistent Information Assurance Control (IAC) inheritance, Mission Owner Capabilities and Responsibilities, and Disaster Recovery (DR) across the enterprise. Additionally, the Enterprise Systems Department supports a variety of customers in the areas of software development, modernization, and operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, configure, and implement F5 BIG-IP solutions including LTM and APM modules.
  • Manage and maintain existing F5 BIG-IP infrastructure, including version upgrades, security patching, and performance tuning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex F5-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for F5 configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams, including network, security, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration and operation of F5 solutions.
  • Stay current on the latest F5 technologies and best practices, attending training and obtaining certifications as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical F5 infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP administration, including LTM, GTM, and ASM modules.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or TCL is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Relevant F5 certifications (e.g., F5 Certified Administrator, F5 Certified Technology Specialist) are highly desired.
