You will be part of Nokia Business Applications AI as a Service team in Portugal. This team’s mission is to develop and nurture innovative, efficient, and high-quality use cases by becoming a use case driven powerhouse. It leverages product capabilities developed by the product engineering team, to nurture and boost excellence in Data Science and Data Engineering disciplines applied to Telco Networks Domain.

What you will learn and contribute to

This job position is part of the Analytics family, whose main objective is to transform Data into Information.

Telecommunications are becoming increasingly blended with domains such as Information Technologies (IT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Yet, it is a domain that by itself already covers a huge scope: from understanding the Fixed and Mobile Telecommunications networks, going through the selection and analysis of the relevant data, to finally transform into meaningful information that enables Telco operators or other industries to troubleshoot and optimize their systems, and ultimately to develop their business.

As a part of our team, you will:

  • Assess customer requirements and define meaningful solutions to address them
  • Identify and specify the relevant data to be collected from Fixed/ Mobile networks
  • Analyze captured data and:

oIdentify potential problems

oDefine the data transformation logic to derive meaningful metrics

oAdvise customer’s engineering teams on corrective measures

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Data Science teams as a Telco subject matter expert

Your skills and experience

You have good knowledge on:

  • Architecture of 4G/5G Mobile Networks
  • Fixed Network access (copper, cable, fiber)
  • Main signaling procedures and KPIs used in telecommunications

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Programming skills with one language, like Python, Java, C++ or R
  • Analytical skills and contact with tools like Jupyter Notebook, or Google Colab
  • Cloud computing models (SaaS, PaaS), Cloud environments like GCP, or Azure
  • AI concepts, like Machine Learning and Neural Networks
