The APRA Remediation technical group owns the application platforms for Commercial Domain (APRA Remediation, Business Lending, Digital Origination & Innovation) across various facets from run the business, delivery of key initiatives to operations. We are seeking talent who can be part of this journey as we look to re-imagine commercial lending for the future.

As a Chapter Lead - Engineer you will be developing solutions, platforms and tools to ensure that the bank meets its strategic agenda by supporting, gathering, processing and building micro services platform. You’ll also be a role model for our ways of working and be passionate about coaching, mentoring and developing others to be the best versions of themselves. You will provide technical guidance, leadership and line management to the team.

What a typical day might look like

Collaborating with the Product Owners, Engineers, Analysts and other people in your Squad to identify risks early and helps to prevent and fix bugs as they arise, improving quality from the outset. Test early and test often
Understanding customer needs and ensuring tests cases are designed to meet acceptance criteria
Coaching engineers to have test driven development approaches to avoid coding defects
Designing test approaches and optimizing test execution across functional and non-functional coverage
Building scripts and tools to implement and continuously improve test outcomes
Identifying opportunities for testing continuous improvement and implement solutions to perform more effective and efficient testing
Ensuring the necessary hygiene and traceability for test case creation, script creation, test execution and defect logging in a tool system
Create acceptance criteria and provide estimates for their work
Influence Analysts and Engineers to have a testing mindset by contributing to and / or supporting analysis and design activities

What will likely be in your toolkit?

Extensive experience working in Behaviour-driven development (BDD), Test-driven Development (TDD) and Domain-driven design.
Experience in developing modular, extensible, re-useable components as part of a broad architecture.
Basic understanding of Data Architecture within Financial Services.
Strong experience in APIs and related concepts (OData, GraphQL, API Gateways, OAuth, Swagger etc)
Extensive experience working with programming platforms/languages like .Net, Java/J2EE,Golang, python, JavaScript.
Leading innovative approaches on infrastructure, performance optimization & automation
Collaborate with Agile team members to mitigate any technical impediments
Good exposure to Devops tools like Codefresh, Artifactory, Git, Jenkins and SRE Observability tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, ServiceNow & XMatters
Hands on cloud environments (Google cloud preferred) & k8s container environments
Proficiency in relational database models, SQL queries as well as exposure to NoSQL
Strong experience in Test automation tools and working in fast-paced Agile Environments
