- Processing and analysing GIS and flood models datasets.
- Contribute to the scientific and technological development of the flood hazard model components.
- Automation and optimization of the data production process
- Quality control and quality assessment of the output data from the developed models and developing solutions for the calibration and the validation of the model components.
- Working on improving the model components modules by researching and implementing innovative scientific techniques.
- A degree in engineering, GIS, water science or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of programming experience with modelling languages (e.g., R, Python, Julia) as well as scientific and engineering scalability systems (e.g. GitHub)
- A track record of developing GIS-based models applied on climate or water science.
- Knowledge of ESRI’s ArcGIS Pro and Arcpy library and experience with open source GIS softwares and libraries
- Working with huge and complex datasets and experience in data science are a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing, including effective presentation skills
- Excellent time management and planning skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and Meticulous attention to detail.
- The ability to work in a team and autonomously.
- Familiarity with and interest in cutting-edge modelling techniques such as AI.
- Willingness to continue learning in order to meet the role's and team's objectives.
