We are looking for a highly motivated FinOps Engineer who will work together with the Cloud Engineering team, focused on automation and optimization of the platform's costs and reporting.

Our platform is fully cloud, mostly based on AWS and GCP. You will be part of a team of 10 Engineers with a different skillset, based in Europe.

Some of the specific challenges you will tackle:
✨ Generate automated reports of costs per project in languages like Python.
✨ Develop savings plan and reservations for AWS, forecasting for the next 12 months.
✨ Create tasks for engineers to address cost-savings opportunities and establish KPIs.
✨ Forecast by using ML and BI tools.

What will I be doing?

    • Establish governance for cross-functional teams and set standards for managing cloud spend.
    • Build tools to analyse our costs and generate reports with meaningful information for different stakeholders, including Engineering, Finance and C-level.
    • Develop a key of business-value and KPI to measure success in cost and business needs.
    • Identify cost optimisation drivers and iterate on a continuous process to provide a consistent methodology to manage cloud consumption in a most cost-effective manner.
    • Plan and forecast on cloud resources by aligning with the stakeholders across the wider team.
    • Stay up-to-date on relevant technologies, plug into user groups, understand trends and opportunities to ensure we are using the best possible techniques and tools.
    • Write useful documentation in your own projects.

What do we need from you?

    • Background in Finance/Business administration.
    • Experience in cost-controlling and data analysis.
    • Basic knowledge of programming tools like Python and Pandas.
    • Proficient on Excel-like tools with large datasets.
    • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
    • Basic understanding of cloud computing resources.
    • We don’t expect you to know everything: attitude and willingness to learn are the keys
