Role Description

  • Build machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation in Production
  • Lead and partner with other data scientists and data engineers to help inform, build, and test models
  • Apply understanding of advanced machine learning practices to enhance product performance.
  • Partner with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver products
  • Facilitate data-driven and informed decision making and prioritization
  • Have a good understanding of general business trends and context
Must Have
  • Proficient coding in Python and/or R (at least 3 years of professional programming)
  • Proficient in SQL queries
  • Strong understand and work experience in data modelling and machine learning techniques (eg. regression, classification, forecast, attribution techniques).
  • Linux basic user level (basic commands, file system, package managers)
  • Git for single contributor code bases
  • Software design basics (development best practices)
  • Machine learning and statistics frameworks or libraries (PyTorch, Sklearn, Tidymodels, Caret, etc.)
  • Experience with data wrangling libraries (Pandas, Dplyr, Tidyverse)
  • Experience using frameworks or libraries to expose models (Flask, Dash, Shiny)
Bonus (Nice to Have)
  • Gitflow or a branching-release git strategy
  • Experience developing ETLs
  • Experience using cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
