We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our diverse team of engineers, scientists, and programmers.

This is a hands on role covering the entire SDLC. It is supported by a management team focused on letting you spend as much of your time as possible doing what you enjoy; building great tools!

Your duties will include;

  • Development, testing, deployment and maintenance of cloud and edge-device based data acquisition and processing services
  • Signal processing, algorithm development and big data analysis
  • Efficient algorithm development with a focus on big data & IoT processing
  • Working with internal stakeholders to define & design new products and features
  • Peer review and feedback on pull requests, feature designs & architectural decisions with colleagues
  • Documentation and delivering training for our software products
  • Troubleshooting, debugging and upgrading existing systems

The Candidate:

This position is ideal for a creative and curious individual, comfortable in a dynamic environment. They are collaborative, forward thinking, and have excellent interpersonal communication skills.

They also possess the following essential skills, experience and attributes;

  • Degree qualified with broad experience across the software engineering domain
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Software Engineer or similar role
  • Able to write clean, well structured, documented and tested code
  • Leadership aptitude to coach inexperienced team members, build teamwork and culture and manage change in a rapidly growing organisation

As well as experience with the following technologies, frameworks and approaches:

  • Python
  • Linux
  • IoT
  • Databases (Time Series & Relational)
  • Service Busses / Queued & Async Messaging
  • Familiarity with the following technologies, frameworks and approaches:
  • Web Development
  • Microservices Architecture
  • Docker
  • DevOps
  • Big Data
  • Orchestration & Automation

It would be advantageous to have had exposure to the following:

  • Previous drilling industry experience (and specifically MWD/LWD)
  • Signal processing and data visualisation experience
  • A basic understanding of sensor physics
  • Web and app front end development skills
  • Exposure to PLCs
  • Ruby on Rails

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
