Meta's Global Operations team exists to help them.The Developer Operations team ensures that applications integrated with our platforms are high-quality and trustworthy. Working closely with other Meta teams, we investigate and detect apps not compliant with our Platform Policies. Depending on the nature of the violation and the best user experience, we may take a variety of actions; everything from helping the developer/publisher fix the problem, to permanently removing the developer/publisher and application from our platform. We are committed to improving the platform experience for users, publishers and developers through the use of automated detection tools, analysis of on and off platform investigative findings, data analysis, guidance, and coordination with product teams. Meta is looking for a strong team player who will be responsible for auditing and investigating Meta integrated apps, developers and respective companies to identify potential violations of our policies. In this position, you will interface with internal teams such as Partnerships, Policy, Legal, Marketing and Engineering, as well as with external developers using the out platforms. The candidate must be able to understand causation, share lessons learnt and demonstrate impact by preventing recurrence.


Developer Operations, Platform Policy Investigator Responsibilities:

  • Investigate complex cases using a variety of methodologies (on and off platform) to understand how abuse is occurring and attribute the person(s) responsible
  • Manage multiple investigations at once with little oversight while effectively prioritizing time
  • Produce high quality, timely, and tailored intelligence reports and assessments to internal and external parties while managing sensitive or confidential data
  • Develop strategies and perform root-cause analysis to prevent and disrupt threats at scale that can impact Meta's Platform API products. Inform, influence, and execute new strategies and tactics using sound analysis and impact metrics to support your position
  • Analyze large and unstructured data sets to identify trends and anomalies indicative of potential malicious activities or data misuse that impacting Meta, its subsidiaries and related customers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Policy, Legal, Engineering) to develop scalable solutions and enhance understanding and knowledge of potential risk to Meta's platform products



Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Intelligence Studies, Cyber Security, International Affairs, or other relevant investigative/analysis-oriented field.
  • 1+ years experience within investigations, risk, fraud, trust & safety, cybersecurity or other related fields, or other comparable experience that demonstrates investigative acuity.
  • Analytical experience in making assessments and solving problems using data, as well as providing practical business insights.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, tools and SQL.
  • Experience working independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.
  • Experience with navigating and driving results in a fast-paced and evolving work culture.
  • Experience using a variety of search tools, including advanced OSINT research methods, Maltego or other links analysis tools.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience applying data analytics to security risk analysis and investigations Adversarial mindset.
  • Technical aptitude, including knowledge of SQL, PHP, Python, Java, or other programming/scripting languages, TCP/IP protocol stack, and exposure to a variety of operating systems. Understanding of HTTP and API, Application Security, DevSecOps, database infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain exceptional accuracy and quality.
  • Investigative experience in one or more of the following areas: spam, phishing, malware, account takeover, apps and ads fraud.
