Python Job: Associate Administrative Assistant

Events in recent years have made us all too familiar with the havoc that natural disasters can wreak, and the increasing frequency and intensity with which they are occurring. Despite record levels of losses, conventional methods of risk modeling continue to paint at best an incomplete picture of these threats.

Zesty.ai uses novel data gathering and data science methods to produce higher quality information about the risks to property from catastrophes like floods and wildfires. While AI alone may not be able to thwart these disasters, it can help us become more prepared for them, and ultimately that will lead to better outcomes.

As an Image Labeling Associate, you are comfortable and excited to work closely with the Data Science & Machine Learning team to build the best AI tech possible. This involves closely collaborating with the Data Science & Machine Learning team to develop consistent approaches to identifying objects in overhead aerial and satellite imagery, creating clear documentation around best practices for classification and object detection, testing these approaches, managing our relationships with our outside labeling team and providing feedback to our labeling team. In addition, you will need to label imagery yourself and review the labels produced by our outside labeling team.

The breakdown of responsibilities is as follows:

• 70% of time spent labeling imagery and reviewing imagery labels using our labeling platform
• 20% of time spent managing our outsourced labeling team
• 10% of time on automation and other tasks

The Opportunity:

• Utilize our data annotation software to label imagery and perform quality control on labels generated by our outside labeling team
• Provide feedback to the external labeling team to help improve our labeling
• Use internal tools to visualize imagery and identify properties of interest
• Use search tools to perform research and help define or refine our model classification (class) definitions
• Develop new ways to identify objects and patterns that will serve as classification indicators
• Perform quality control and audits on customer batches
• Assist in the preparation of labeling instructions
• Manage multiple labeling projects
• Run Python scripts as needed to complete tasks

• Experience working with GIS data
• Basic Python coding skills
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Nice to Have:

• Basic knowledge of ArcGIS or equivalent GIS software
• Proficient in SQL
• Proficient in Python
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, etc)
