We are looking to hire a Data Intern to join our team. This role is suited for those looking to start their career in data engineering. You will work on end-to-end data processing, focusing on data accuracy and completeness. This will give you the opportunity to work with different technologies, bespoke platforms and learn from experienced data engineers.

The team:

Efficient and scalable data pipelines are the backbone of Pirical. Our unique, award-winning people analytics platform, Pirical on Demand, is a growing product built on cutting edge data engineering technologies. The data engineers in Our Customer Success team are responsible for building and maintaining all these pipelines - as well as contributing to building our POD Data Experience vision. Our 10+ strong team is composed of young and ambitious people. We are remote-first and we have team members based all across the UK (and even some abroad).

The role:

• Operate end-to-end data processing pipelines on one of our key products, Pirical On Demand

• Conduct checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness

• Complete regular tasks to keep our data accurate and up to date

• Resolve data issues using manual and automated methods

• Maintain and update processing logic of our data pipelines

The person:

• Available to work full-time for a 6 month contract

• Great attention to detail

• Good English skills (written and spoken)

• Computer literate and comfortable with structured thinking

• Able to provide and receive constructive feedback

• Interested in pursuing a career in data engineering

• Interested in Python and SQL

• Experience in Python is a plus

• AWS services (S3, SageMaker, Cloud9, Redshift, Neptune, Glue (starting 2023), Redshift Spectrum (starting 2023), and more…)

• Jupyter Notebooks

• Great Expectations, Prefect (starting 2023)

• Custom In-house tools (processing factories, CLIs, pipeline orchestration apps)

• Graph databases, Semantic web standards, Ontologies and knowledge representation
