Python Job: Data Engineer

WesTrac are looking for a motivated Data Engineer to join our growing IS Development and Operations team.

Reporting to the Data and Analytics Manager, you will design, model, join, build and maintain datasets from a variety of sources that can be leveraged by the organisation to evaluate and optimise business performance. This role ensures the accuracy of data fulfilment to provide information for analytics and data visualisation to deliver valuable business insights.

We are looking for someone who is organized, methodical, and detail-oriented, with outstanding analytical skills who can manage multiple tasks with ease. You will have a problem-solving mindset, always focusing on the needs of the business and its stakeholders whilst liaising with a range of departments and services.

About you:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, Finance, or other relatable discipline
• Relevant industry experience with experience in the development of data warehousing and analytics solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and report on multiple tasks concurrently, prioritising efforts, managing time effectively, and requiring minimal supervision in the execution.
• Demonstrated advanced skills in ELT (extract, load and transform) processes using Azure Data Factory for Orchestration or SSIS.
• Knowledge in Change control using Git and release pipeline experience using Azure Devops.
• Advanced understanding of the Spark architecture, Delta, query optimization, Structured Streaming and Adaptive Query Execution
• Working Knowledge of Python and SQL
• Demonstrated ability to apply the Spark DataFrame API to complete individual data manipulation tasks.
