We’re looking for a talented individual to join our growing IT team in the position of:Â

Data Scientist, Information Technology (m/f/d)


  • Explore, process and report IoT and other rail related data
  • Design and develop analytical models to enable and extend applications for rail systems
  • Identify and explore statistical and machine learning model based solutions to various use cases
  • Identify and pursue novel business use cases through collaboration with other teams and costumers
  • Development and deployment of solutions using open-source frameworks as well as internal tools, services, and cloud infrastructure
  • Design and appropriately document analytics solutions and applications

Applicant's Profile:

  • Python programming skills (2+ years of professional experience)
  • Experience with the Python scientific computing ecosystem – Jupyter Notebooks, pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn
  • Strong SQL experience, as well as good understanding of data modelling techniques and relational database systems
  • Solid experience with the AWS ecosystem, especially with data-facing services – S3, Athena, RDS
  • Solid experience with some of Python’s plotting libraries – Matplotlib, seaborn, plotly
  • Experience with Business Intelligence software platforms – Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, TIBCO Spotfire (optional)
  • Experience with the Unix-like platforms and related data processing utilities
  • 2+ years of experience of software development in an Agile environment
  • Strong detailed oriented, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently to deliver consistent results to difficult problems
  • Experience with Docker and containerization technologies is a plus
  • Experience with software development using team-oriented Git workflows CI/CD pipelines is a plus
  • Experience with HTML/Javascript/CSS or other web frameworks is a plus

  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently to deliver consistent results
  • Ability to interpret written requirements and technical specification documents
  • Excellent communication in English and extensive collaboration skills
